Here's an entirely non-exhaustive list of restaurants that we like in the Boulder-Longmont area. If you want more recommendations or information, feel free to ask!
In Boulder (most within walking distance of the Boulderado). . .
The Med . . . Yummy tapas and a cheerful, bustling atmosphere. Go between 3 and 6:30 p.m. for great prices on food and drink during happy hour.
The Kitchen . . . A nice restaurant for lunch or dinner (breakfast on weekends).
The Dushanbe Teahouse . . . If you like a nearly infinite menu of tea options, go here. They serve food, too! The setting is beautiful: a distinctive building on Boulder Creek.
The Sink . . . An old University of Colorado institution for hamburgers and beer, located right across the street from campus. Rebecca's grandparents danced here when it was called The Sunken Gardens back in the late '30s. Rebecca's parents ate here in the '60s. You get the picture.
Japango and Sushi Tora . . . For some reason, there are many, many sushi restaurants on/near the Pearl Street Mall. These are both quite good.
In Longmont . . .
Angkor . . . An easy-to-overlook Cambodian restaurant that is one of our absolute favorites. Try the Angkor Spiced Beef. The menu also has more familiar Chinese-food choices.
Mike O'Shays . . . A pub and restaurant with a festive atmosphere most nights.
Lucile's Creole Cafe . . . A fantastic Cajun place for breakfast or lunch.
Loaf & Ladle . . . An unpretentious local lunch spot for sandwiches, soup, and pie.
The Javastop . . . A friendly coffee shop with homemade coffee cake, muffins, and delicious mocha lattes.
